  • What are the Suites like at LuLu's Cattery?
We pride ourselves on offering the most spacious Suites in Perth. Our "smallest" accommodation option is 6ft long, over 3ft 11inches wide & 6ft 6inches high (1.8m x 1.2m x 2m). We do not utilise the "compartment style" accommodation that other facilities offer. Each Suite is spacious and designed for comfort & enrichment, with multiple bedding options, toys, climbing furniture, fresh air & natural light. We aim to create a home-like environment that cats love!
  • Can I book multiple cats, and will they stay together?
Yes! Cats from the same family are welcome to stay together in any Suite other than our LuLu's Suites. We ensure that they have plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy each other's company, but that they can also retreat from one another should they feel the need. There is an additional cost of $12/night for an additional cat sharing the Suite, however this is all itemised on our booking page.
  • What type of food do you provide?
We understand the ever-changing tastes of cats, so we serve a nutritious variety of wet foods which we rotate every few days. Alongside this we feed Advance brand dry food, to ensure that all of your cat's nutritional requirements are being met. If your cat has specific dietary needs or preferences, simply let us know when completing your booking form! You are more than welcome to bring your own food from home, if it makes you feel more comfortable. We have a fridge/freezer for any raw meats, or anything that needs to be kept refrigerated.
  • How often are the cats fed?
Dependent on the owner's instructions, our guests are fed wet food twice daily and have dry food available to them 24/7 in dispensers located in their Suite. This routine can be tailored depending on the individual cat's requirements, as we understand that some kitty-cats might be watching their waistline or have be under instruction from their Vet. We offer our Senior & Hyperthyroid guests multiple meals per day.
  • Can you accommodate elderly cats or those with special needs?
Of course! We specialise in the care of senior cats and have a dedicated senior accommodation wing featuring mobility aides, access ramps to the sun-deck, climate control & ultra-comfort bedding. We feed our seniors on a high calorie, soft diet on a more intensive feeding schedule. All seniors are weighed regularly in order to monitor their progress throughout their stay. We often have cats with special health requirements stay with us, such as those with heart issues, those who are post-operative, and more commonly those with hyperthyroid issues. If you let us know your cat's situation, we will tailor their care accordingly.
  • My cat is shy/anxious. Will they be ok?
They will! We endeavour to create a calm, stress-free environment for all guests. Shy or anxious cats are given plenty of time to settle and handled with extra gentleness and care. We provide them with hiding spots, so they can feel more secure in their surroundings. Having said that, a cat's turn-around time for adapting to their new environment is generally 48hrs. After this we find that even the most anxious cats will venture out to investigate us and will usually start to interact with us quite quickly from there. We do take it at your cat's pace, so if they do not want to interact with us, we do not force it!
  • Can I tour the Cattery prior to booking?
Absolutely! We encourage potential clients to schedule a tour and see where their cat will be staying. You can view all of our available Suites and see our current guests (although close-up interaction is discouraged in order to prevent bacteria transfer or stress to the cats). Contact us to arrange a convenient viewing time!
  • What makes LuLu's Cattery different to other catteries?
LuLu's Cattery is a luxury, boutique-style retreat purpose-built exclusively for cats. We offer the most spacious Suites in Perth, individually tailored with plenty of natural light, fully opening windows for fresh air, heating & cooling for comfort, and a peaceful, loving environment. Our focus is on personalised care, enrichment, and ensuring your cat feels relaxed, safe & at home. Our facility was custom built for cats by people who have decades of experience in the pet-boarding industry & who truly thought of every detail during the design process.
  • How is the Cattery kept so clean & hygienic?
Cleanliness is our top priority (aside from the happiness of our guests!). We adhere to a strict daily routine of thoroughly cleaning & mopping each Suite, scooping litter trays twice daily and replacing litter as often as is needed by the individual guest. We utilise Veterinary grade disinfectants and ensure that all surfaces are fully sanitised in-between guests. We also have great natural air-flow through the Cattery, so there is nowhere for smells to accumulate. You will always notice on arrival that our facility smells fresh & clean!
  • Do you provide heating & cooling for the Suites?
Absolutely! Each Suite is kept comfortable year-round with air-conditioning in summer & a cosy wood fire in winter. We have ducted evaporative air-conditioning for the main cattery, and individual reverse cycle air-conditioners for both our Luxury & Senior wings. We also have gas points throughout the facility, so if guests require additional heat during winter we can provide it for them. Also provided are self-warming & cooling beds for guests.
  • What does a typical day look like for a cat at LuLu's Cattery?
Cats enjoy a calm & predictable routine. Mornings feature gentle wake-ups & breakfast time, followed by individual play, cuddle or grooming sessions (depending on the cat's needs) once the cleaning has been completed. The windows are opened (aside from very hot or rainy days) & the fresh air is let in. Lunchtimes are kept quiet so that the cats can lounge, snooze and relax. More often than not they will all be found lounging on their sun-deck in front of the open window. Evenings we feed dinner & ensure all beds are fluffed & comfortable for the night. If the day has been very hot, we open the windows overnight so that the cats can still have their daily dose of the outdoors. Each cat sets their own pace, so we tailor their daily routine to suit their needs. If they want to interact, we will interact as much or as little as they'd like. If they'd prefer to be left alone, we will leave them to their day. The most important thing is the cat's happiness and comfort, so we don't do anything that might cause them any stress.
  • Do the cats get any playtime or enrichment?
Absolutely! Every cat receives personalised attention daily, including playtime with toys, interactive games, brushing or cuddles - whatever THEY want. If they would prefer quiet time, then that's what we delivery. Outside, we have bird feeders that can be seen from all windows. We feed the birds to encourage them to visit us, so the cats are able to watch the birds from their sun-deck.
  • Will my cat have access to fresh air & natural light?
Definitely! Our Cattery has been designed such that the top half the building opens up to allow the outside in. Our windows have no glass, only secure metal grills, so your cat has unrestricted fresh air, sunshine and can have all of the sounds and smells of the outdoors. The cats really do love it!
  • How do I make a booking?
EASY! Simply head over to our BOOKINGS page, decide which Suite you would like to book, input your check-in & check-out dates, and fill in our online booking form. You will receive an immediate confirmation email, along with a reminder email 48hrs prior to your cat's stay. Alternatively, you can fill in the Contact Form on our home page, OR you can give us a call/SMS on 0473 665 775 and we will handle everything for you! We like to keep things as simple and user friendly as possible
  • Do you require a booking deposit?
Yes! We require a $20 booking deposit on all bookings, regardless of the time of year. This is fully refundable if you provide us with more than 24hrs notice. We charge this small deposit in order to prevent "no-shows" (people who book, but do not turn up nor call to cancel). This helps us to manage availability and plan accordingly.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
We know that life happens, so if you need to cancel we fully understand! Simply let us know via phone, SMS or email and we will happily cancel your booking for you, and refund your booking deposit. If you provide less than 24hrs notice, however, we will not be able to refund your deposit as that does not give us enough time to replace your booking.
  • How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly in high demand periods such as school holidays & peak travel times. Our booking system allows you to book up to 18 months in advance! If your booking is for the Christmas/New Year period, we suggest booking NOW as spaces fill very quickly. If you are unsure of your exact dates, we can amend your booking at a later date.
  • Will I receive updates about my Cat?
Of course! We know how much you miss them, so we are happy to send photos and video updates so that you can see how happy and relaxed your cat is while you are away. Our preferred method of sending videos is via Whatsapp messenger, however we can send photos via SMS, email or via Facebook Messenger. You can contact us in between updates and we will happily provide you with an update.
  • What do I need to bring when dropping off my cat for their holiday?
Please bring your cat in a secure carrier. We will keep this with us, in case of emergency. Please also bring along their current vaccination certificate, any medications (labelled with dosage instructions), and any prescription foods they may need. For your cat's comfort, feel free to bring along anything from home that you feel will make your cat more comfortable during their stay, such as a favourite bed or toy (and yes, we know that cat's choose the most random of objects as their favourite thing, so don't feel embarrassed bringing whatever it is with you!). A used item of your clothing, such as a t-shirt or a pair of your socks is also a great idea, as the cat will have your scent with them during their stay. We provide everything that your cat will need while they are holidaying with us, so you should only feel the need to bring additional home luxuries.
  • What are your check-in & check-out hours?
We keep strict check-in & check-out windows, in order to prevent any disruption to the set care routine of the cats. Our hours are as follows: Monday to Friday 9.30am-11am or, 3.30pm-4.30pm Saturday & Sunday 9.30am -11am Afternoons by appointment (to be discussed when you check-in) Rest assured though, even though these are our advertised "opening hours", our staff are at the Cattery all day providing care and love to our guests.
  • Do you offer a pick-up & drop-off taxi service?
YES! We offer a taxi service to our guests, which is charged depending on your location. Please ask us about this when you book, so we can provide a personalised quote. We also provide an airport pick-up & drop-off service.
